Thank you friends, family and strangers for the calls, texts, emails and comments this morning...they've boosted our spirits. When we arrived there was a whole team ready and waiting for her-draped, masked and ready to check her out. She has had many preliminary labs and tests done to make sure she is healthy enough to undergo surgery. So, we are waiting.... but I think very few things would allow for her Doctor to put the brakes on this. We CANT be sent home, could not deal with going through this again.

All I know about the donor is that he/she has given Lu a very good offer. I will not know age, name, gender, cause of death...anything at all about the donor until later when and if the family wants to be in contact with us. My impression is that he or she may be here @ PCMC but I'm not positive. I am wondering how many others are also benefiting this day, their prayers answered as well.

Surgery could begin anywhere from a few hours from now to several hours from now depending on the harvesting of other organs from the donor. So for now we are sitting in LuLus room while she's hooked up to different fluids to help her with imbalances she is having (sodium, sugars etc.) with both sets of Grandparents, Heather May (reporter) and Steve Griffen (photographer) and my sister Julia. We are in good company.

Liz, I'm praying for your family right now. I can not imagine what you are feeling at this moment--so many different emotions, I'm sure. You are such an incredible mommy and such an inspiration to many. I'm proud of you and love you with all of my heart. Stay strong, and please give us updates as you can.

Liz and James

I've been following your story for a while now and have been so impressed with the way you're handling this stressful situation with your sweet baby girl. The two of you are a class act. Thank you for sharing your story and testimony, it really helps put perspective on how valuable a little life is and how easily it can be gone(what an amazing sacrifice this donor family is making). I hope you can feel our prayers sustaining the two of you, Jonah, and little Lulu.

Love
Amy (Taylor) and Ben Johnson

I don't know you personally, but feel as if I do (and would certainly like to) since I have been following your blog that I heard about on Facebook. You are all such an inspiration to me and remind me to value the little things, including our good health!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Lulu as she undergoes surgery and recovery.

Your family and Lulu have been waiting so patiently for this day and God has finally found the perfect liver for Lulu. Dont be too upset on the logistics of how the liver came to be. That child is now in heaven and God is holding them now. For whatever reason that child needed to go and is in a better place.
PS. The photographer with you today is Tylers uncle

Waiting is always the hardest, but seeing a bigger light at the end of the road has got to be great. Dr. Book and her team are the best.

Hey Lizzie Bug, here's a little scripture (personalized for Lulu) that has made me think of London since knowing she'd be getting a transplant...from D & C 84:88
"And whoso receiveth/giveth [a liver] there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."

Hugs, kisses, prayers!

Love,

(Aunt) Cyd
