The DAILY GRIND--see why I feel like a part-time nurse?
I received an email Wednesday morning from Heather May (above) a reporter from the Salt Lake Tribune who'd come across LuLu's blog and wanted to know if she could do a story on her. By afternoon she was on my couch with me where we talked for hours about London and the journey we've been on this last year. She came back Thursday morning with a photographer and continued her interview this time LuLu, Dad and Jones involved. She also joined us for clinic this week where she was able to interview Dr. Book and understand London's disease better.
She will follow us through transplant, even joining us in the waiting room during surgery as her photographer will gain access to the operating room for a period of time as well. I am SO happy that our suffering may benefit others, my hopes are that more people will become donors and less people will die waiting for organs and that parents will consider and decide about donation regarding their own children, God forbid they ever have to actually make that decision. Lulu continues to be a little hero.....

Oh my gosh. Honestly, how do you do it? Please tell me those aren't all shots you have to give Miss Lulu?! And I seriously want to pick up her sweet little sleeping body and just cuddle and love her. So sweet. And that beadhead? Best thing I've seen all week. And you? Beautiful as always. Loving the highlights.
Thanks for the text today. I'll plan on next week sometime (Thurs? Fri?) with Johah unless it ends up not working for you. Loves.
Oh! Where do I start! 1)I wish I lived close to you and your family...I would come over every day and help u with Lulu's meds and such(I'm also a home health nurse and have taken care of kids sick like Lulu)2)I shall bestow upon you an honary RN degree(I just waved my magic wand)as you are going above and beyond the mommy duties.3)Love, love love the bedhead and the strawberry PJ's!4)For what that child has been thru, she deserves a case of tissues a day. Then she could pull them out at her sweet leisure.5)Stay strong everyone! God Bless....(sorry for the long post ;)
Liz- I've been following your blog for months now. Chantell told Nicole Strate about it and she in turn told me (I don't know if you remember me at all but I'm the other Nicole that used to work at Telly's tanning salon). I admire you for your strength!!! Not many people would handle this very well and you seem to be dealing with it in a great way and you always look put together. I pray for LuLu to get a new liver and to be on the road to better health and a fun filled life. What a doll she is and she always seems so happy for what situation she is in. This blog really does help lighten up my days and make me remember what the most important things in life are while at the same time making my heart ache for your family! Keep the updates coming and I will continue to pray for you and your family.
Wonderful comments, better than I could say it. Love the pictures... we pray for Lulu everyday. Thanks for keeping us posted, hopefully she will get her new liver any day now. Love you! April
Love the bed head and the picture of her sleeping is so precious, I just wish I was there to give her a gentle kiss on her forehead. Wow, how exciting about the journalist doing a piece on Lulu...that's incredible!!! It's amazing how many see these inspiring blogs and fall in love with families they've never even met...hence myself. :) I can't get over all the medicine, poor thing and poor you for having to give her all of that...quite intimidating! Keep us posted...we love you guys!
honorary nurse indeed. And i noticed pics where her tube was out so add one more to the tally on replacing that ;) you are so awesome and im excited to read the story the reporter comes out with. Your journey has definitly been inspiring and is a great example of hope and true love a mom has for her baby!!
I still know the names of what is inside of all that seringes...I´ve never thought it was so many, I´ve never had them all together like you had for the photo!
You have to continue to be brave, my friend! Believe better days will come!
with love,
Alice ( Martim´s mum)
