The perfect ending to the most bitter sweet day imaginable. I believe there is a little angel standing stage left (where that little gap is by the bed) smiling ear-to-ear that she could make this day possible for LuLu, for so many.

My sisters by my side.... several missing who wish they could have been here. Their presence missed by me but felt--through electronic devices :)

This is our friend Dr. Boyer. He was called in to be the radiologist for a liver recipient and the first thing he asked was : "IS IT LONDON BADGER?" and when told yes did this, see above and hear a genuinely excited: "YES" as he raised his arms looking like a champion of sorts. I made him redo it a few times for a good picture and because it was so touching. Him and his family have been a great source of support and comfort to us. We love them.

We went to the PICU for our momentous reunion only to be told they wouldn't be ready for us for about an hour. So, we do what we do best- wait some more. When we were finally able to go back (approx 11:30 or 12) James & myself were accompanied by Heather, Steve (Trib reporters) and Jason (PR for PCMC) for 10 minutes then they allowed our whole group to come back for a brief reunion. It was sweet, so sweet to see our Lu. We'd prepared ourselves for the worst and saw the best. She looks beautiful her tummy so flat and perfect. Her long lashes cascading over her cheeks, her brown locks looking stylish and curly, her beautiful complexion glowing. Her spirit shining through. I touched her liver and said a prayer of thanks for this gift with so much respect as to where that liver came from. I spoke quietly to our donor angel, I know she was there. We will never forget her, when we can get a picture she'll go on our shelf next to Jonah and LuLu's pictures. She is now a part of our family. LuLu now has another mother and another father because they gave her and many others life.
