The last soak...for a while.

Auntie Kath up for a tearful visit..and was able to see us through our departure from London today. I'm glad she was there, is always such a comfort. All my girlfriends are.

LuLu snuggled up in Mum's woobie, yes- I still have a woobie and sometimes I will share it with my kids...on special occassions. THIS a very special occassion.

Squeezing in some shut-eye before shut-eye is drug induced.

Right before leaving the room I asked Jonah to have a prayer in his heart for LuLu. He automatically folded his arms, shut his eyes, bowed his head and said THE most beautiful, beautiful prayer on her behalf. Wow. He was inspired.

Everyone in the room gave LuLu a kiss on the head before leaving our room, family, nurses and reporters included.

In the OR waiting room, signing consent- talking with Doctors etc.

The pic above and below were taken by Megan, our Child Life Specialist who was able to take LuLu from my arms to hers and walk her the rest of the way into her OR and be with her until she was asleep. She said she sang her our Bob Marley song which soothed her. Thank you Bob- thank you Megan

Minutes after leaving my baby in the loving hands of those who will save her life we were greeted by London's pediatrician who is my Mum's cousin and her amazing-sweet-as-can-be daughter Emaline. (and LOTs of yummy, yummy food) Thank you Cynthia!

She makes me so happy even in a time of my greatest worry. She is so special. Love you Emaline!

They came to get us. It was like a dream...or nightmare, can't decide. The walk from our 3rd floor room to the OR on the second floor was the longest walk I've ever had. My heart was heavy, burning and tight. Tears uncontrolled. Jonah kept asking why I was crying and I told them they were happy tears. (a hard concept for a 3 year old) Some tears were happy for our LuLu the others were sad-for the donor, a life cut short and a family suffering beyond my own comprehension. She was as calm in my arms as I have ever seen her. I KNOW I wasn't the only one carrying her. The sweet spirit who gave her life close by.

It is 2:19 and we are waiting for our first update. The photographer from the Trib already came out after taking many pictures of LuLu's operation. I got to see a picture of her liver that has been giving her hell.

We are blessed, we feel so loved, so lucky that we live in a time of medical miracles such as this. Be strong my LuLu. We are patiently waiting for you and expect nothing less than perfection.

What a beautiful and heartbreaking moment to share! Tessa had minor surgery up there and seeing the look on your face brought back those mixed emotions for me. I cannot comprehend what you must be feeling. We are all rooting for that little LuLu! Our prayers continue...

I just LOVE that LuLu is on the operating table with a flower in her hair. True LuLu style! Kisses, Lizzie. Thanks for the pictures. It's so hard not being up there right now. I love you sissy.
